My name is Nicole parker and I am a passionate business advisor for small, micro and creative business founders in Richmond, VA.
I started as a creator and crafter, trained in metal and ceramic design (craft/material studies, BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University). And later I ran my own jewelry business.
I’ve lived and worked in small business my whole life and learned early that creative work only sticks when the business side is strong. So, I stepped into learning as much as I could about small business operations and building.
Over the last decade, I’ve been the right-hand to notable local founders of creative companies with lean, product-driven brands, running end-to-end production, building out storefronts, designing wholesale pipelines, and creating organized playbooks.
In 2024, I carried that maker’s mindset into regional impact as the Executive Director of a nationally recognized small business resource hub (WBC), designing educational programs and incubators, advising 300+ small businesses, and convening a strong resource ecosystem.
Today, I continue helping small businesses of all types to make clear decisions, choose right-sized tools, and craft simple, hand-built systems that respect their voice and capacity.
Fun facts:
My grandfather owned 5 businesses, three still survive today and are third generation operated. One is a soda company!
My husband is also a small business owner! He co-owns Current Culture Fly Co. in Richmond and inspires me daily.
Including my own jewelry business, I have also worked professionally in clay, metal, and leather mediums.
