About Nicole

Nicole Parker is a small business consultant helping founders and creative entrepreneurs build clearer strategy, stronger systems, and more sustainable businesses.

She studied metal and ceramic design at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a BFA in Craft and Material Studies. After graduating she worked for several local artisans and ran her own jewelry business, learning firsthand how closely creative work and running a company are bound together.

Over the last decade she has worked alongside founders of creative companies on nearly every part of the operation: designing products, managing production, planning retail spaces, developing wholesale pipelines, and building the operational playbooks that keep a business running when the founder steps away from it.

She later served as Executive Director of the Women's Business Center of Central Virginia, a federally funded SBA-affiliated program, where she designed educational programs and incubators, advised more than 300 small businesses, and built durable networks of support for local founders. When federal funding for the program ended in 2025, she led the organization through its wind-down — and came away with a clear view of what it takes for a small organization to survive a shock it didn't choose.

She currently serves as President-Elect of NAWBO Richmond.
